ECOWAS: Tinubu’s Re-Election Will Promote Peace In W’Africa – NATCOM
The National Commission Against the Proliferation of Arms, Light Weapons, and Ammunitions (NATCOM), has expressed the belief that relative peace enjoined in the West African subregion would be sustained under President Bola Tinubu’s second term as Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
NATCOM Acting Director General Dr Agaba Iduh, in a congratulatory message, stated that Tinubu’s reelection was a testament to the trust and confidence that the member states of ECOWAS have in his ability to lead and steer the organisation towards a brighter future.
“We strongly believe that your leadership will continue to bring about positive change and progress in the entire West Africa,” Iduh added.
He noted the president’s dedication to promoting democracy, peace, security, and development in the West African sub-region, adding, “Your vision for a more democratic and prosperous ECOWAS is inspiring, and we have no doubt that under your continued guidance, the organisation will achieve even greater heights.”
The acting DG pledged the interim management’s support for a safer and more secure environment, in collaboration with relevant security agencies in the country.
“We look forward to working closely with you and ECOWAS in our shared mission to combat the proliferation of small arms, light weapons, and ammunition in West Africa,” he added.
