Osun East Senatorial Constituents Get 1, 800 Bags Of Palliative Rice
The lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial District in the Senate, Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi has distributed another batch of the palliative rice totaling 1800 to his constituents.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government had given bags of rice to the members of the National Assembly for distribution to their constituents as part of measures to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on them.
Speaking at the event where the food item was shared to the beneficiaries, Fadahunsi, who was represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Hon Ayo Awodirepo, commended President Bola Tinubu for his action towards mitigating the effects on fuel subsidy removal on Nigerians.
According to him, the gesture by the President channelled through the National Assembly to the masses was timely, strategic and impactful.
“This intervention is not only timely but impactful. It is also very strategic. It is indeed a strong response to the cries of the people. It shows we now have a president that listens and acts.
“On our path as a representative of the people, we will continue to do our best to ensure they live well and enjoy maximum benefit of voting for us to represent them. We have track records of siding with the masses always regardless the risk involved.
“We won’t stop. We will continue to work very hard to make sure that our people do not feel full weight of the present harsh economy,” the lawmaker said.
Fadahunsi however called on the leaders of different groups that would take the food item on behalf of their members, to ensure that it gets to the beneficiaries.
A release by the media aide to the lawmaker, Sam Segun-Progress, stated that a total of 1800 50kg bags of of rice were distributed to various groups, including religious bodies, traditional rulers, artisan groups among others.
