UACC celebrates Life, Times Of Madam Luciana Sanni

The General Overseer and President of the United Apostolic Church of Christ, UACC Worldwide, Rev’d Dr. Bayo Owoyemi, has described the late Madam Luciana Modupeola Sanni as a committed Christian, honest, and upright, who lived an impacful life.

Speaking with Oodua News at a reception to celebrate the life of the deceased after interment ceremony in Ibadan Rev’d Owoyemi described the late matriarch who passed on at the age of 99 years as a philanthropist and pillar of the UACC community who will be greatly missed personally and by the church.

” Mama was a committed Christian, honest and upright regardless of what happened.

“I recommended the deceased during her lifetime to be appointed as patroness ( Iya Ijo) of the church given her full commitment to the work of God

“Mama and the Sanni family meant so much to me and my family and have contributed so much to my ministry. She loves everybody. Personally, I will miss her words of advice.

“When she was alive , she would always want me to be at her side. Interestingly, I travelled ,the second day that I came back from England, mama gave up the ghost, somebody was saying that mama was waiting for me. I personally deposited her body in the morgue. I love her and I will miss so many things about her.

“The Sanni family till today, happens to be a strong family in the UACC. Through her, one of her children who is now a member of the Board of Trustees of the UACC worldwide, is doing very well and we got to know this woman through her mother. We will miss mama but our joy is that she was a born again christian and we believe that she’s reigning with Christ .

He urged the living to have a rethink and should know that one day they will leave this earth and people will have one thing or the other to say about them, saying ” Mama”s life was full of testimonies, she has done her own part and she has gone, what will they say about you”? ,he asked

Similarly, In her own comment, daughter of the deceased, Pastor (Mrs) Adesomi Adeola , who is the Director for International Affairs of the UACC, Worldwide, based in Manchester, United Kingdom described her late mother as loving, caring and a philanthropist who loves puting smiles on people’s faces.

“Mama was a mother indeed. Mother of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren.Mama was well loved because she was so caring, loving, she will give anything to make sure people are satisfied. She opened her heart, she was a philanthropist. Mama always like dancing, she was a good dancer and the whole church loved her. Am sure they really missed her. We bless God for her life.

She used the medium to appreciate members of the UACC Citadel of Praise, Manchester, who flew into the country for the funeral, I also appreciate family and friends most especially our President, Rev.Dr Bayo Owoyemi,the Media Director of the Church, Pastor Paul Erakhifu , my sisters, brothers and all other members of the church for their support towards the success of the burial ceremony. Everything went perfectly and I really appreciate everyone.

“This is one of the things Mama taught us, to be united, she taught us morals and always to say the truth no matter how the case may be.

A member of the church, Deaconess Kehinde Aribolarin, who is the iya ewe of the UACC, Sabo, Ibadan said the late Deaconess Sanni was a very accommodating woman who loves everyone especially children.

“If anyone is angry and Mama was in church, such person will go home with laughter.She is always joyful and dancing. Mama is too good and will be dearly missed. “She concluded

Luciana Modupe Sanni hailed from Maiduguri, Bui Local Government, BornoState. She was born to the Christian family of
Late Chief George (GBS) Kannike and Late Mad- am Comfort Asabi Kannike on 22nd June 1925.

Late Chief GBS Kannike hailed from Maiduguri,
Bornu State. Whilst her mother Late Madam
Comfort Asabi hailed from Offa, Kwara State.
Luciana Modupe Sanni, grew up in Lagos and as a teenager, attended Aroloya (Catholic) School,Lagos. She’s a Northerner and a proud Lagosian.

Luciana Modupe (Nee Kannike) married her beloved husband James Adekunle (JAS) Sanni (Mogaji – Agbo- Ile Akande Ojo Family, Oke-Ofa,
Ibadan), who passed on to glory on 24th October 1977.

Luciana Modupe joined the United Apostolic
Church of Christ (UACC), Sabo, Ibadan, around five decades ago. She served God in her best ca- pacity, well known for her philanthropic qualities.

She was appointed the leader of Afurugbin Soci- ety and the head of Good Women, UACC, Sabo,
Ibadan.

Leaders of the UACC in attendance at the occasion are; wife of the UACC President , Pst. Mrs.Joke Owoyemi, Oyo State Superintendent, Pst. Babalola, Elder Sunday Joseph and and Pst. Mrs. Rachael Olorunyomi, UACC Lagos State Treasurer

Rev. Eniola Oluwatuase,( General Secretary)Rev. Felix Popoola ( Auditor General),Pst. Paul Erakhifu (Media Director),Pst. Gbenga Ojo,(Legal Adviser), Pst.Emmanuel Olorunyomi (Deputy General Secretary )and Pst.Ogundoro (Deputy National Treasurer)

Also in attendance were members of the UACC Citadel of Praise, Manchester, United Kingdom amongst whom are , Evangelist Bodunrin Hundeyin, , Deaconess Rashida Erinle, Deaconess Adedayo Ogunleye, Mrs Bukola Akinlolu and Mrs Bose Agunkejoye.
