Gov Idris Mourns As Kebbi NUJ Loses Chairman
Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris has received with deep shock the sad news of the passing of Alhaji Hamza Galadima Zuru, the Kebbi State NUJ Chairman.
The deceased died in the early hours of Thursday following a brief illness at the Federal Medical Center, Birnin Kebbi.
Earlier, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone A announced the passing of the NUJ Chairman saying, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Comrade Hamza Galadima Zuru, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kebbi State Council”.
The governor, in a condolence message to the family of the deceased and the entire journalists in the State and NUJ by his Special Adviser, Yahaya Sarki described the death of the late journalist as a colossal loss to the State.
According to the Governor, the death of the NUJ Chairman has created a wide vacuum in journalism that would be difficult to fill.
Dr Idris described the deceased as a core professional, consummate and diligent personality.
According to the governor, the late Chairman would be remembered by a myriad of legacies he has left as a journalist and as a leader.
He prayed Allah to forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Aljanna Firdaus.
Governor Idris also beseeched Allah to give the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Aged 52, late veteran journalist, Hamza Galadima Zuru is survived by 3 wives and 10 children.
He has since been buried according to Islamic rites after a funeral prayer conducted at FMC Birnin Kebbi.

Secretary NUJ Zone A further said that Zuru breathed his last today at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Birnin Kebbi after battling a prolonged illness.
His dedication, passion, and commitment to the journalism profession and the NUJ will forever be remembered and cherished.
Zuru’s contributions to the growth and development of journalism in Kebbi State and beyond have left an indelible mark.
