#Endbadgovernance: Toe The Path Of Dialogue To Preserve Our Common wealth-NGO Tells FG

As the nationwide protest tagged ‘#EndBadGovernance in Nigeria’ hits a second day in the nation, a faith-based and non-governmental Organization known as the Justice, Development and Peace Makers’ Centre (JDPMC), Osogbo has urged Government at all levels especially Bola Tinubu led Administration to reconsider his plan to tow the path of dialogue with Nigerian Youths who have remained adamant to leave the streets without their demands being met.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the General Coordinator of the Organization, Rev. Fr. Peter Akinkunmi as a way of lending their voice to other Civil Society Organizations in bringing lasting solution to the civil unrest brewing from the protest.

According to him “As we enter the second day of the #endbadgovernance#, #endhunger# protest, we renew our call on the government of Nigeria at all levels to continue to explore means that can improve dialogue with protesting Nigerians. The government should at the same time not relent on account of the protest but rather speed up the implementation of the immediate term intervention plans that respond to the yearnings of Nigerians.

While appealing to the emotions of the Nigerian Protesters particularly the angry youths who felt to have been let down by the various Governments in powers, adding that they should not forget how much it cost the founding fathers to have brought Nigeria thus far.

“JDPMC reminds the protesters not to forget how much it cost us to get to where we are today and what lies ahead of us with our teeming population, let them thus be more disposed to avenues of constructive engagement with less tendencies to harm our common wealth and our destiny as a people. While we exercise our civic rights, let’s shun all forms of violence and destructions of properties”, he concluded.
