Telu Football Club Celebrates 5th Anniversary
-As Founder, Alamu Presents Awards Of Recognition To Supporters Of Club In Osun Community
Hundreds of Sport aficionados were at the weekend stormed the Iwo sport centre for the celebration of 5th anniversary
of the establishment of Telu Football Club,Iwo.
The founder, Engineer Taoheed Alamu described the round leather game, “as a sporting game that all and sundry must get himself or herself involved in any given society to develop their three domains of affective, cognitive and psychomotor for effective functionality.
The founder of the football club who made the argument at the event, also affirmed that, the game builds individuals strength, stamina and speed and at the same time improve their mental and physical health.
The activity which was in three in One programme, witnessed Graduation Ceremony of the footballers sponsored to Tertiary Institutions and Arabic Schools by the club founder and the Freedom Ceremony for those that learnt one trade or the other.
The high point of the event was the presentation of awards of recognition to
32 notable supporters of Telu Football Club; presentation of Certificates to 18 Arabic School Graduants, 10 Technical College Graduates, 2 HND holders from Federal Polytechnic, Ede and 12 graduates of various trades.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, charged well to do people in the country to emulate the approach and method of the owner of Telu Football Club, Iwo Engineer Taoheed Alamu in the development of youths.
He commented him, for the establishment of a well equipped football club for youths that have flair for footballing and sponsoring of willing students to accomplish their academic goals in Western and Islamic Education in addition to learning of trades of their choices is certainly the best approach to preparing the youths for meaningful future.
The royal father however Charged beneficiaries of the good gesture to make judicious use of the opportunity provided for them and be more productive in their immediate environments.
Also in a welcome address delivered by a management member of Telu Soccer Outfits, Alhaji Yusuf Asafa (popularly called EBA), he appealed to players and officials of the Club and Alamu Football Academy, to always be of good behaviour and make self discipline their watchwords.
In his own remark, the Chairman of the occasion, Professor Lai Olurode gave kudos to the parents of sole sponsor of Telu Football Club, Iwo for giving him education and proper home training that made him a considerate, compassionate and patriotic person in the society.
While concluding his opening speech, he charged them to be determined in order to be successful so that they can be useful to themselves in particular and the society in general.
In his response as to what informed him of his philanthropic gestures, the Computer Engineer turned Football Promoter said, he was trying to give back to the community what the community has given him and, at the same time to appreciate Allah’s mercy on his life.
On the secret behind his success and steady progress on the project, he credited the success to his wife whose understanding and cooperation is uncommon.
In their separate comments Wazir of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States Sheikh Yaqub Abdul Baaki and Ameer Jamaat Tahawun Sheikh Daud Imran Molaasan opined that the fear of Allah and understanding of the Teaching of the holy Quran are the two guiding factors for Engineer Taoheed Alamu
On what to do to promote sports in the state, former Secretary to the Osun State Government Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, the Asiwaju Musulumi of Iwoland Alhaj Liad Tella and Chairman Ayekoooto Communication, Engineer Abdul Jeleel are of the opinion that government at all levels should provide adequate and modern sporting facilities, these will encourage the sportsmen to give their best in their various events.
Present at the occasion are; the CEO of INAAYATULLAH TRAVELS and Tours Limited Iwo, Dr Sirajudeen Al Asru Bilal, Chairman APC Iwo Local Government Engineer Lasun Olaniyi, Sanmori Adini of Iwoland Alhaji Mutiu Abdul Azeez, Magistrate Khadijat Oloyade, Secretary Osun State Football Association Mr. Taofeek Amoo and other important dignitaries from far and near.
