By Joshua Oladipo
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Osun Command has confirmed that four people lost their lives in a tragic accident on Sunday along the Osun-Ondo expressway.
Mr. Taofeeq Sokumbi, the Osun Sector Commander, revealed the details in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.
Sokumbi explained that the accident occurred opposite Joseph Ayo Babalola University and was caused by excessive speeding, which resulted in the fatalities.
He strongly cautioned motorists against dangerous driving, emphasizing that such behaviour could lead to the loss of lives and property.
Sokumbi stressed that the accident was a direct result of the driver’s carelessness, pointing out the known dangers of excessive speed.
The injured victims have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited in a morgue.
Sokumbi also warned that the FRSC would not hesitate to take action against any road offenders found violating the state’s safety regulations.
