#EndBadGovernance: No Protest In Ekiti
There was calm, relative peace in Ekiti State on Thursday as residents shuned the planned protest against bad governance.
Our correspondent who moved around strategic areas in the state such as Okeyinmi, Fajuyi round about, old and New Secretariat in Ado Ekiti, the state capital observed that businesses were opened while commercial motorists were going about their businesses.
Some commercial banks were also opened.
Though the government secretariat was scanty as the presence of workers was not visible.
At a centre that is strategic to protest in the state and the popular Fajuyi park at the Ado metropolis, security agents were present at the pavilion and some very few youths in another separate side without any protest.
The state Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Adesola Gold Adedayo while speaking with journalists categorically stated that Ekiti Youths have shelved the planned protest with the determination to support the government on development policies.
“ Ekiti youths are not protesting, rather they are supporting our government at all levels to be able to do more , Federal and the state, we have a government that are listening to us ,that are responsive to our yearnings and aspirations.
“Ekiti youths in their solidarity visit to my office spoke loud and clear that the youths are not protesting ,we are supporting our government at all levels”, the commissioner said.
