Comrade Joseph Sangosanya for Burial on May 3

The burial ceremony for Comrade Joseph Sangosanya will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at his residence at 6, Otun Abese Estate, after Elebu Market, Ibadan, Oyo state at 10 am.

According to the burial schedule released by the family, the Christian Wake will be held at the same venue on Thursday, May 2 2024 at 4 pm. The funeral program will start at 8 am commencing with Lying-in-State on the same day and venue.

Comrade, friends, associates, and mentees of the departed Comrade are invited to join us in honoring his memory.

Comrades and distinguished prominent leaders in the Civil Society space who have worked closely with Comrade Sangosanya will share fond memories of the deceased and reflect on his profound impact on our lives and the struggle as a whole.

Following the burial ceremony, there will be an opportunity for comrades and friends to share their memories and express their support for his family.

In a statement released on behalf of the Christian Foundation for Social Justice and Equity and signed by Comrade Jide Afolabi, he described Sangosanya as an exceptional leader, humanist, and great activist who lived his life for the good of the human race.

“The Foundation extends our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of our departed Executive Chairman, Comrade Joseph Sangosanya during this difficult time. We pray that they find solace in knowing that their loved one will be remembered as a true hero of our democracy.

“He dedicated his life to the cause and ideals of our movement and his contributions will be remembered forever.

“Please mark your calendars and join us in paying tribute to Comrade Sangosanya on May 3. Your presence will honor his memory and ensure that his legacy lives on.”

Condolence registers have already been opened at his residence. Sangosanya died on April 18 2024 after a brief illness. He was 68 years old.
