Sam Larry is in police custody and is actively supporting the police with their continuing investigation, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the command.
“Balogun Olamilekan Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody,” tweeted Hundeyin. He is now supporting an ongoing investigation.
Rapper, singer, and songwriter MohBad, from Lagos, Nigeria, was signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records before quitting the label in 2022.
His most popular songs include “Ponmo,” “Peace,” “Beast and Peace,” “Sorry”, “Feel Good,” and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” (You Will Always Be Remembered), which he co-wrote with Rexxie and received three nominations for The Headies awards in 2022.
He announced his departure from Marlian Records after two years. On October 5, 2022, MohBad accused the record label boss, singer Naira Marley, of assault and claimed that his former boss had given orders for individuals to beat him up as a result of his announcement that he would be hiring a new manager to handle his music and commercial matters.
It was revealed after MohBad’s passing that he had complained to the police in June 2023 that Samson Erinfolami Balogun, a music promoter known as “Sam Larry” and a known Marley ally, had beaten him and damaged his property.
Public outcry continued to fill the internet demanding justice for the late Mohbad, with numerous candle light processions all over the globe, despite the Lagos State Government assurances that justice will be served.
