A 45-year-old man, Badmus Ghazali Ayokunle, has cried out over the threat to his life and his three children after the mysterious death of his wife, Faosat.
The mechanised farmer who based in Otan Ile, in Obokun local government of Osun State before he fled to Ondo State following series of threats to his life cried for help, saying his life is in danger.
The widower narrated his ordeal in the hand of the family of his late father, Chief Gbadamosi Tijani Olajire after his death few years ago.
Ghazali said being the only son, he has been facing series of humiliation and threats to life which made him left Osun on exile.
He said his siblings (adopted children) of his father and other members of the family accused him of attempting to inherit his daddy’s property after his death being the only child of the late father while he was alive.
“My daddy engaged the service of two persons who I always refer to as my siblings because they are members of our family. My Father segmented his farming work into two, Cocoa planting section and palm trees section. He assigned one of them to be in charge of cocoa plants while the other one was designated to palm trees section”.
According to the physically disturbed man, members of his family who had wanted to be in the control of the late daddy’s properties even before his exit had turned against him and threatened to kill him.
He further explained that he was threatened to be eliminated should he fails to renege the properties of in his custody and handed it over to them.
Ghazali explained that , contrary to the believes of some of them, there was no any property in his custody, adding that all efforts to explain to them proved abortive as they were not ready to hear him out.
He said he left home for an unknown destination at a neighboring state when some fierce looking louts allegedly sponsored by members of his family invaded his residence and unleashed terror on his wife.
Ghazali said, ” We kept our 3 children and my adopted child with my sister in Otan Ile, and relocated to Ondo state for safety when the family of my father are after my life”
He explained that, he received a called from his children on his way to Lagos who told him, they met the lifeless body of their mother on the dinning room where she was been killed.
He explained: ” On 27 July, 2023, I was on my way to Lagos when I received a call from my daughter, only to break the bad news of the demise of my wife, Mrs Badmus Faosat (nee Komolafe) to me. They said, they met the lifeless body of their mother on the dinning room where she was been killed by unknown people suspected to be the siblings of my father”
“They believe I know much about the properties of my dad because of my closeness with him while he was alive. After the death of my father and few days later , they approached me and demanded for factual account of my father’s landed properties, which I told them I knew little about.
“My response to the requests did not go down well with them and after the meeting I had with them, I began to notice a strange sign apart from being physically assaulted and I was spiritually attacked. It was then , I begin to see think of interior motive behind their request.
“Earlier, On December 5, 2022 , I was nearly killed by some fierce looking louts who invaded my residence located at Imojigbon area,in Otan Ile, Obokun local government of Osun State with the intention of eliminating me. I was so lucky because I managed to escape after I got the hint of their arrival from my wife , who went to a nearby house to get bread and quickly rushed home to inform me having sensed their strange movement around the vicinity.
“I escaped through the window and when they sniffed that my disappearance was as a result of the tips I got somewhere, they aggressively descended on my wife and beat her blue black. As a matter of fact, she was beating to the point of coma.
“When I couldn’t bear the threats and assaults any longer my wife and I relocated to a village in Ondo State.
“We kept our children with my sister in-law at Otan-Ile because of the fear of uncertainty in our new sojourn to Ondo State.
” I was in the mourning period few days after the death of my wife when I started receiving calls threatening to kill me. The last call I received from a voice which could not be deciphered said they have succeeded in a clean way to terminate the life of my wife and that it would soon get to my turn. It’s then that I knew I’m in a serious problem.
“As I’m talking to you, I can emphatically tell you that my life is in danger and I don’t feel safe anymore,” he said.
He is however appealing to security agents, all Human rights groups and international organizations to come to his aid, while seeking protection for himself from the murderous gang of hoodlums who he alleged are the agents of death allegedly sent on errand by his family to terminate his life.
