The Companion-an association of Muslim men in business and in professions – has charged adherents of Islam to imbibe the virtue of total submission to Allaah in all circumstances, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) whose legacy endures with the celebration of the festival of sacrifice.

This is contained in an Eidul- Adha message, issued by the National Amir of the association, Engr. Kamil Olalekan and the Public Affairs Secretary, Muideen Adeleke on the occasion of 1444 AH(2023) Id-el-Adha celebration.

The release underscored the faithfulness of the household of Prophet Ibrahim widely regarded as ‘the father of faith’ and the fulfilment of the promise of Allaah on his descendants from Prophet Ismail and the seal of Prophets, Muhammad (SAW).

‘The Companion’ enjoined Muslims around the world to fear Allaah, their Creator and be divinely guided in their religious and secular life, to attract the blessings of Allaah and keep His wrath at bay.

It reminded them that since Allah has played down on the blood and flesh of the animals sacrificed during Eid-ul-Adha festival, premium should be placed on pristine intentions by all Muslims in all their devotional activities and strict obedience to Him, to elicit favours.

‘The Companion’ further stated that the current hardship facing Nigerians requires that both the leaders and the citizenry be on the same page by making genuine sacrifices, for the nation to wriggle out of the current dire challenges.

” We commend the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the bold steps taken so far towards restoring the nation back to its rightful place”

The Muslim group however admonished the country’s leaders to lead an exemplary life, to encourage the masses to make necessary sacrifices in the overall interest of national development.
“A situation whereby political office holders prioritise their well-being and live luxurious life at the expense of the masses who voted them into offices is detrimental to the well-being of the nation.”

‘The Companion’ advocated unity and love among Nigerians particularly the adherents of Islam in the country and strict adherence to the injunctions of Allaah and the tacit approval of Prophet Muhammad, to fulfil the purpose of their creation.

The Muslim group while thanking Allaah for the privilege of witnessing this year’s Id-el-Adha, congratulated the entire Muslim ummah around the world on the occasion but admonished them never to loose sight of the essence of the all-important festival in their day-to-day life captured in the four cardinal principles: of eeman or believe in Allaah; patience during trial; worship in the hope of qualifying for the never failing promise of Allah and finally enduring reward of earning Allah’s abiding pleasure( ridwanil-l-akbar).
