The lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi IREKANDU, has urged citizens of Osun State, especially Obokun to remain calm over the verdict of the tribunal on the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election

This appeal was made by the lawmaker following what he described as incoherent decision of the tribunal which favoured the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adegboyega Oyetola.

The Architect while describing the verdict as a miscarriage of justice asked party members and core loyalists of the governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to remain calm in the face of injustice.

Irekandu who assured members of victory at the appellate courts revealed that lawyers of the PDP and Senator Ademola Adeleke have identified major loopholes in the ruling which would be trashed at the appeal court.

The young lawmaker also stressed that the acclaimed victory of the opposition party is partial, without root and an orphan.

“Three judges sat on the matter. The majority agreed that Senator Adeleke is qualified to contest for the top seat. One of the judges dismissed the argument of the APC over unconvincing arguments and no reference to the voter register. The chairman of the panel favoured the APC and its candidate in his ruling. The other judge simply thanked everybody and later signed the ruling of the chairman after it was forwarded to her. These are contestable in higher courts. We have headed there and it will be addressed”, he added.

Irekandu thanked all the party members for their support and appreciated the leaders for their guidance and tutelage always.

“Imole is everywhere. Osun people are very resolute in their choice. They voted for Adeleke and they will keep him there. Osun people can not afford to go backwards. Their favourite politician and unique leader remain unshakeable,” he concluded.
