Workers Weep As Governor Badaru Exits Jigawa Govt House
As Governor Muhammad Badadu departed the Government House on Friday following the state’s final executive council meeting, staff members of the Government House and other political appointees were brought to tears.
The Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badadu left the Government House on Friday after the state valedictory executive council meeting.
DAILY POST reported that the Governor had dissolved his cabinet ahead of the 29th May inauguration of new administration.
In a momentous event marking the end of his era and the beginning of a new administration, Governor Mohammed Badaru formally presented the handover documents to his successor, Alhaji Umar Namadi, at a ceremony held at the Jigawa State Government House.
Governor Badaru reiterated his commitment to ensure a seamless transition to the incoming government.
“It is with great honour and humility that I present these handover documents to the Governor-elect, Alhaji Umar Namadi. As we transition from one administration to another, we must maintain stability and ensure the well-being of our people.
“I have full confidence in Alhaji Namadi’s leadership abilities, and I pledge my unwavering support during this transition period,” he said.
He appreciates the members of his executive council, political appointees, civil servants, and the people of the state for their support and cooperation.
DAILY POST observed that some of the executive council members, appointees, and staff in the government House were shedding tears as the Governor bid them farewell.
It was learnt however that the Governor would not be present during the inauguration as he may travel to Saudi Arabia, as the 2023 state Amiril-Hajj.
Governor-elect, Umar Namadi, in his response, expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his dedication and service to Jigawa State.
He promised to build on the successes of the past administration and introduce innovative policies that will enhance the lives of the citizens
