Osun: Accord Party Guber Candidate, Akin Ogunbiyi Defects To APC

Immediate past Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola and former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore on Wednesday formally received the Accord Party Governorship Candidate in the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi into the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.

Ogunbiyi was warmly welcomed into the party at the residence of the former governor in Abuja.

Recall that Ogunbiyi contested the governorship primaries in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2018 Osun gubernatorial election but defected to Accord Party in 2022 under the platform he secured the governorship ticket.

The Ile-Ogbo-born insurance expert cum politician was one of the strong pillars in the opposition parties in the state.

Those in attendance are; former Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy, Dr. Amidu Tadese; former Member Osun House of Assembly in Ayedire State Constituency, Hon. Leke Ogunsola, former Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development and Community Affairs, Engr. Mumini Adekunle Rafiu; among others.
