Technician In Police Net For Stealing Four Solar Panels
A 30-year-old technician, Emmanuel Achogwu, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly stealing four solar panels in the Ikosi area of the state on Monday.
The state police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who made the news of the arrest known on his verified X handle on Monday, said the stolen four panels were meant to power streetlights in the area.
Hundeyin added that the suspect was one of the technicians contracted to install the panels in the area before he returned to vandalise them.
He wrote, “Recently, #followlasg installed some solar-powered streetlights in some parts of the state. A few weeks later, the solar panels were stolen.
“The police were informed and got to work. A few days ago, 30-year-old Emmanuel Achogwu was arrested by officers from Alausa Division on Ikosi Road with four solar panels, moments after he removed them.”
“Investigation reveals that the suspect was one of the technicians contracted to install the solar-powered streetlights. The investigation is ongoing.”
