RCCG Distributes Free Food and Clothing Items at CSR Programme in Abuja
By Our Reporter
Joy and excitement filled the air last Sunday at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Treasure House, Dutse-Alhaji, Abuja where over 100 beneficiaries went home with various items of food and clothing. The programme was the church’s mega Christian Social Responsibility/Welfare Sunday, featuring Dorcas Corner where beneficiaries were allowed to pick any item of their choice at no cost.
Delivering a message on “Breaking the Yoke of Poverty”, the Pastor in Charge of Treasure House who is also the Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of Province (CSR), FCT 8, Pastor Yinka Olatunbosun, noted that poverty is a cankerworm that must not be tolerated by children of God. Taking his text from the book of 3 John 2, Pastor Olatunbosun told the gathering that God has made provision for all His children to be blessed but that the devil will always fight to hinder them from accessing these blessings. He promised that the church under his new leadership will make CSR a priority.
In an exclusive chat with this reporter, Pastor Olatunbosun likened the church to a solution centre where those in need of both spiritual and physical food must be attended to. He said the parish had always done CSR in the past but not in this magnitude. “Yes before I came they have been doing CSR but not of this nature. For now we don’t have any sponsor or support from anywhere except from a few members and my family. We will however appreciate external support because we need to reach out to more people beyond the shores of the church”
Several women, youths and children who benefited from the programme thanked the church authority for the kind gesture and prayed for God’s blessings for them.
