We’ll Work Hard To Make Business Environment Encouraging For Youngsters – Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde has assured people of Oyo state that his administration will continue to work hard to make business environment keeps encouraging youngsters

Makinde gave the assurance at the 2023 edition of Ibadan International Polo Tournament organized in his honour to usher in Omituntun 2.0 at Eleyele road, Ibadan

The Governor who acknowledged that journey to Omituntun began with the polo club Ibadan as the first group to accept his ambition in September 2014, pledged to complement the efforts of the executive members of the club by donating a tractor and rehabilitating the road that leads to the polo club

“In my political journey, the first time I came out at a rally to announce to the people of oyo state that I ‘ll like to be a governor was actually right here. They wouldn’t give me any space anywhere in Ibadan, I went to Mapo, no way, I went to everywhere, they said no way, but prince was the president here and they gave me this place. This was September 2014, and I ran under a party that also has the horse as it’s logo but I lost. This was in 2015, but the seed was already sown at that particular time. So, thank you Polo club . You started the journey that eventually culminated into Omituntun for Oyo state. We’ve done Omituntun 1.0 and now we’re in 2.0.

” I want to give you the assurance that we will continue to work very hard to make sure the business environment in Oyo state keeps encouraging our youngsters.

” This is a club that I enjoy coming into, I see myself as part of this family, I know you all thought you have lost me to Ibadan Golf Club but let me renew the relationship and the vow with Ibadan Polo club, I will now make that commitment that I will be a regular face around here, because quite frankly, I think for the four years of my first tenure,am not sure I came here, maybe I did not or maybe I came once, but this is a good omen because it’s not even two months yet in this second tenure and am already here.

“So, you will see more of me, but while coming in , I saw the road leading in to this place, just to complement the work you have done at the reception, this road will also be fixed immediately. And am not only going to fix it , I will put my famous solar lights in there.

And finally, the vice chairman of the Nigeria Polo federation has been whispering about tractor . I gave Ibadan golf club a tractor and when I got to Ogbomoso, Ogbomoso Golf Club also asked for a tractor, so I made the commitment to them and am going to give them, now Polo is also asking for tractor whether to say yes or no ,but the “Yes” have it

Earlier in his speech, the organizer of the Polo Tournament in honour of the Governor, Ademola Opaleye, urged Governor Makinde not to deviate from the good works that earned him second term in office

The highlight of the event include contest, among team Arapaja, Ilenla, Ilaji, Tegbe and Anlamomle, while outstanding teams and players were also rewarded with trophies and other gift items.
