Leaders Converge on BICC for the NBCYC 50th Anniversary

Leaders of the Nigerian Baptist Convention and the Youth Conference converged on the main auditorium of the Baptist International Convention Centre, BICC, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference, NBCYC.
Among the dignitaries that attended were the leadership of the NBC led by the President, Rev Israel Adelani Akanji; and all Conference Presidents among others.
Also in attendance were past and current leaders of the Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference including Bro. K.S.K Adeyemi, Bro. Giwa Babatunde, Pastor Onajite Enunuaye; former NBCYC Coordinators and Directors and current President, Amb. Toba Emmanuel among others.
The night began with a time of worship, led by a band of talented musicians who performed contemporary gospel music. The atmosphere was electrifying, and the energy in the room was infectious as the youth reverence God with dance and praises for the grace of the last 50 years.
The theme of the night was “Oneness” and reflected the importance of oneness at all levels of the Convention.
The event featured various activities, such as live music, a presentation of the BSF, Delegates, and recognition of Dignitaries including the NBC President.
After the worship session, The guest minister, Rev Dr. Segun Adeleke shared God’s word about Love and how Christian Youths are expected to reciprocate God’s love to the world, especially in the body of Christ as it is fundamental to the establishment of the Church.
He further spoke about the challenges that young people face in today’s world and encouraged them to trust God to overcome and to remain steadfast in their faith.
Following the message, an altar call was made where the youth were prayed for and provided with further counseling.
Other major highlights of the program were the cutting of the anniversary cake; the presentation of awards and the recognition of leaders. The NBC Vice President, Admin/HR, Deacon Emmanuel Ubandoma; Vice President, Finance/Investment, Deacon Abiodun Oloyede; Dr. Adamu Amos, and others were awarded and decorated as Youth Grand Ambassadors.
