Baptist Youths Hold Youth Night, 50th Anniversary Today

The Youths of the Nigerian Baptist Convention will hold the annual Youth Night and celebrate the 50th anniversary of its existence at the Baptist International Convention Centre, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lufuwape, Ogun state today.

The theme of the program that brings all youths of the Nigerian Baptist Convention together is “Oneness” (1 John 4:7-8).

In a statement signed by the NBCYC President, Amb. Toba Emmanuel Bamidele urged Baptist youths to physically attend the program and if they are unable to attend physically, they should join the program virtually stressing that no Nigerian Baptist youth should miss the epoch program.

Bamidele said “We thank God for His grace upon the lives of the leadership and members of the Nigerian Baptist Convention Youth Conference, NBCYC, for the grace to witness the Annual Youth Night and 50th Anniversary celebration.

“This year, we are coming together in ‘Oneness’, 1 John 4:7-8, to raise our voices to Almighty God for His grace upon us in the last 50 years.

“We are prepared for the moving of the holy spirit through various programs spiritually designed for the uplifting of our souls that our youths shall be blessed.

He added that leaders of the Nigerian Baptist Convention and the Youth and Students Ministries are expected to grace the occasion.

“We are expecting our leaders including the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji to lead the Convention delegates; our Director, Rev Dr. James Olawuyi, and our Coordinator, Rev IbukunOluwa Joshua among others. We have also invited our former leaders and the recently inaugurated NBCYC Youth Ambassadors.

The guest minister for the occasion is Rev Dr. T. Segun Adeleke while music ministers include some of the most gifted and talented artists like Oyediji Solomon Oyelami, Gotan Nentawe, and Rev Gueke Ikoge among others with a special appearance by Yomi Olabisi (Yomi Apala).

Meanwhile, the National Coordinator, Youth Ministries Department, NBC, Rev IbukunOluwa Joshua has urged youths of Baptist extraction across the globe to join their Nigerian counterparts in celebrating God’s faithfulness on NBCYC in the last 50 years.

He said that the night aside from being a night of celebration shall equally be a night of wonders as the heavens shall be opened upon all the youths.

The Youth Night is part of the scheduled programs for the 110th annual Convention-in-Session of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, NBC, commencing on Saturday with the theme, “Entering into Newness through Love and Unity” John 13:34-35.
