Odetayo Sets To Resume As OSPOLY Rector After Two-Week Break
There are indications that Dr Tajudeen Odetayo is ready and determined to resume as Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, when the institution is opened after a two-week break declared by the state government.
It would be recalled that the state government had on September 7, 2023 shut the polytechnic for two weeks few hours after Odetayo returned to office as the rector of the institution.
Odetayo returned to the polytechnic after an injunction granted by an Industrial Court, sitting in Lagos which restrained the state government from taking further action on his purported suspension.
However, sources in the polytechnic told CityMirrorNews that Odetayo would resume in his capacity as rector after the two weeks break.
According to sources, both the academic and none academic staffs of the polytechnic are aware that Odetayo would resume whenever the institution is opened for activities.
CityMirrorNews contacted Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics of the institution, Dr. Ezekiel Alabi, who said he was also optimistic that Odetayo would resume.
Alabi said: “I have also been informed that Dr Odetayo will resume when the school is opened . He was in office two weeks ago before the school was shut down by the government. I believe the government might have sorted every necessary thing to do by now. I am optimistic that Dr Odetayo will resume.”
