‘End Of Fine Era,’ Kwara Gov Mourns Elerin Of Erin Ile

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commiserated with the people of Erin Ile on the passing of the Elerin of Erin Ile, Oba AbdulGaniyu Ajibola Olusokun II, describing the development as the end of a fine era.

Oba Ajibola, a first class traditional ruler in the state died on Saturday in his palace at Erin-Ile in Oyun local government area of Kwara State at the age of 81.

In a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, chief press Secretary to the governor on Saturday, Abdulrazaq extolled the late monarch as a statesman and a great leader of his people under whom Erin-Ile recorded many developmental strides.

“I send our heartfelt condolences to the immediate and extended families of the late first-class monarch as well as the good people of Erin-Ile and Oyun Local Government Area on this sad development. We are comforted by the great legacies of the monarch,” he said.

“Our prayers are with the family and the good people of the community at this time and always. We pray Allah, exalted is He, to grant Al-Jannah to the Elerin of Erin Ile and comfort his family.”

Also, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has described the death of Oba Ajibola as a monumental loss to Kwarans and humanity in general.

The Emir in his condolence message issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, on Saturday noted that the late monarch led his people for 41 years with commitment, dedication and fear of God adding that, “history will continue to be kind to him, even, at death.”

“The Emir, on behalf of the entire members of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs however commiserated with the Elerin-In-Council, the people of Erin-Ile kingdom, members of the Oyun Traditional Rulers Council, government and people of Kwara State over the colossal loss”, the statement said.

He also condoled with the immediate and extended family members of the deceased, urging them to find solace in the fact that the late Oba Ajibola lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation with landmark achievements for his community.

The Emir, therefore, prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late monarch, accept his good deeds and admit him into al-janatul firdaos.
