He expressed concern over the debasing conduct of some miscreants, who were engaged in thuggery, phone snatching, shoplifting, drug abuse, and other unlawful acts, capable of disrupting the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed within the metropolis.
Members of the Assembly, representing, Dawakin Tofa/Rimin Gado, Ungoggo, Dambatta, Garko, Takai and Kabo, in their separate contributions, also argued that, if not promptly addressed, the security situation will escalate to an unprecedented level, noting that gangs are already terrorising and injuring innocent Kano residents.
To this end, they stressed the need for the state security council, security agencies, and relevant stakeholders to holistically review and formulate modalities, toward addressing the menace.
At the end of careful deliberations, the House adopted the motion and charged the state government to do everything humanly to bring perpetrators of the heinous crimes to book.
