Iwo/Osogbo Road: Osun Assembly Drills Adeleke, Expresses Worry Over Slow Pace Of Work
The Osun State House of Assembly on Tuesday drilled the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited, Engr Olanrewaju Adeleke on the ongoing Iwo-Osogbo road project.
The Assembly had summoned Adeleke to give the House details on the progress of the ongoing reconstruction of the 91.0km Osogbo/Iwo/Ibadan Expressway.
Having been paid 30 per cent out of a total contract cost of #11.3 billion, the supposedly 18-monthly project is presently on 20 per cent completion for the past 8 months.
While briefing the lawmakers, according to a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, OSHA, Olamide Tiamiyu, Adeleke briefed the lawmakers on the reasons the work on the road is slow.
He later assured the members and the Osun citizenry that the project would be completed in the next 10 months.
But not satisfied with his assurance, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun ordered that Engr. Adeleke reappears on the floor of the House on Monday 24th July 2023 for further clarification.
Engr. Adeleke is expected to appear before the House alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works.
Signed:
Olamide Tiamiyu,
Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, OSHA.
