Court Jails Surety For Failing To Produce Accused Who Stole Maggi
A 31-year-Old Man, Sani Ukasha has been sentenced to three months imprisonment for failing to produce an accused person he stood surety for.
Ukasha was convicted and jailed on Thursday by an area court in Jos, Plateau State
The judge, Mr Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced Ukasha who pleaded guilty to the charge and pleaded for leniency.
Bokkos, however, gave the surety an option of N10,000 fine.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the surety failed to produce an accused person in a case of seasoning cubes theft in contravention of the Plateau State Penal Code.
