Osun: Gunmen Abandon Victim During Hot Chase By Amotekun Operatives

The victim of abduction at Ago-Igbira,a Fulani Settlement in Ila-Orangun, Ila local Government Area of Osun State had a lucky escape on Monday as his abductors abandoned him while trying to escape a hot chase by the operatives of
Osun State Security Network codenamed Amotekun.
Amotekun confirmed the release of Jubril who was reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen at Ago-Igbira.
The victim was rescued on monday after a lot of pressure mounted on the suspected kidnappers by operatives of Amotekun
Recalled that operatives of Amotekun were on a search of a kidnapped victim Muhammed Jubril in Ago-Igbira, a Fulani settlement of Ila-Orangun of Osun State that was kidnapped at about 1:40 am on Wednesday 12th April 2023 by unknown gunmen.
The operatives swung into action immediately after a distress call was placed to the corps, Ila command office by the Seriki Fulani of Ago Igbira settlement that some Bororo have invaded their community and whisked away Jubril.
The Amotekun Field Commander, Commander Olusoji Akanni mobilized his men and started combing the forest all night till they got to Ago Inisha, Arandun, and Igbo Orile in Kwara State.
The Amotekun Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said that the kidnapped victim, Muhammed Jubril has been released by his abductors after intensive efforts and pressure mounted on the hoodlums
“Our operatives were closing in on them and as a result they released the victim with no ransom paid,” Adewinmbi said.
He also added that the efforts were still on the top gear ensure the perpetrators are nabbed and made to face the music.
However, the victim has rejoined with his family.
