Rotimi Makinde Felicitates Patricia Etteh On Her Milestone Birthday

– Describes Her As ‘Woman That Found Favor From God’

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, Hon. Rotimi Makinde has congratulated the former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Patricia Olubunmi Foluke Etteh as she marks her milestone birth anniversary, today, Thursday August 17, 2023.

In a statement signed by the Ife-born politician, (Makinde), he stated that the septuagenarian political colossus has demonstrated leadership in every facet of her life’s endeavour as a woman, wife, mother, lawmaker and a progressive grassroots politician and mobiliser.

Makinde who represented Ife Federal Constituency at the lower Chamber in the 7th Assembly further describes Hon. Patricia as a stabilising force and strong pillar of support to her family and the APC at large.

He commended the Nigeria’s former number 4 citizen for her impactful and visionary leadership, which he said has led to political stability and development of not only her ward; Senatorial District but also that of Osun State, the South West and the Federal Republic of Nigeria in general.

He prayed that God should continue to strengthen her in the years ahead with good health and wisdom that would enable her continue in her role in nation building and an advocate for women’s rights, empowerment and emancipation.

Makinde’s statement reads:

“Madam Speaker as I always love to call you, I congratulate you most respectfully on this landmark birthday celebration. I am truly proud of you and the leadership you have provided over the years, taking decisions that are beneficial to the people and fighting the cause of women across the entire country. You are undoubtedly a woman that found favor from God.

“Working closely with you when you headed the Presidential Campaign Committee of Parliamentarians in the South-West which ushered in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you gave me and many of the patriots sense of conviction about your competence, vision, capacity and loyalty to every just course you believe in. No wonder you held sway as 10th Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 6th Assembly with the unbroken record of being the first female Speaker.

“I want to seize this auspicious occasion of your birthday to salute your uncommon courage and leadership acumen. Over the years, you have proven to be a dogged advocate and defender of what is just, fair and equitable. You are one of the pillars of our democracy and you have paid your dues in inspiring and mentoring women politically across the divides, and we are counting on you to continue to lead and render selfless service to your people and the country.

“Ma, your impactful participation in today’s politics especially the aspect of your intimidating track records as a former Speaker of the green Chamber of the National Assembly has positively raised the stakes for women to get engaged in our political affairs. You deeply demonstrated leadership in every facet of your life’s endeavour as a woman, wife, mother, lawmaker and a progressive grassroots politician and mobiliser, above all you have a forgiving spirit.

“It is indeed gratifying to note that you steadfastly and irrepressibly demonstrated unwavering support for Nigeria’s democracy and willingness to readily avail our dear nation of your time, attention and wise counsel whenever occasion has demanded. You are a stabilising force and strong pillar of support to your family and the APC at large.

“Our astute, dynamic and cerebral leader, I join your family, business and political associates, members of staff, numerous friends and many well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and provision for you the past years of a life of outstanding accomplishments, I wish you a very happy birthday and many more years of good health and personal fulfillment. Congratulations ma.” The statement concluded.
