‘Olubunmi Etteh was unnecessary persecuted’- Yakub Dogara
–-As Ex Speaker celebrates 70th birthday
The former lawmaker for Bogoro/Dasa/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, Yakubu Dogara, has congratulated congratulated the former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Patricia Olubunmi Foluke Etteh on the celebration of her 70th birthday.
Dogara, who was the 13th Speaker House of Representatives described the celebrant as a woman of virtue who he said was unnecessary persecuted while in office.
He made this known at a reception organised to mark Etteh 70th birthday anniversary, held at Gwarinpa Abuja.
At the event which was well attended by notable Nigerians and prominent politicians, Dogara recalled what the renovation of the speaker’s house was generated then.
He said: “•••let me release just one. I could remember vividly the contract of the renovation of the house of the speaker was in region of 600 million for which they said breach due process.
“But, the question is that house was subsiquently renovated but, perhaps, nobody knew how much was spent but I can guarantee with the knowledge that I have and nobody can dispute it was double that amount but much can be said later . I won’t say it now.
“Mummy! God will increase you in wisdom whereever you have not seen before in terms of greatness you will begin to see it now”, he concluded.
Presence at the event are Sen Pius Anyim, Hon Mulikat Adeola, Hon Rotimi Makinde, Hon Harrison Ibekwe, Hon Agboola, the former deputy Gov Ondo State. Hon Austin Okpara, Mrs Tallen Pauline, the former Minister women affairs of Nigeria, Rt Hon Bello Masari, Hon Binta, Sen Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Hon Ado dogo Audu among others.
