Breaking: Kidnapped OSBC Staff’s Wife, Child Regain Freedom
The wife of the staff of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC), Osogbo, Mr Isaac Adedeji, Eniola, who was abducted by some yet-to-be-identified persons suspected to be kidnapper, alongside her son, Alfred have regained freedom.
The mother and son were reportedly abducted in the Ota Efun area of Osogbo Saturday evening by some unknown people, said to be carrying arms.
According to family sources, they were released Sunday evening in Ikirun, Ifelodun local Government area of the state by their abductors.
The victims were said to be coming from the Oke Baale Area of Osogbo, going to Ota Efun on a commercial motorcycle when a vehicle blocked their way and the occupants, forced them into a bus and drove them to an unknown destination.
It was learnt that after the incident was reported at the state Police Command, the mobile phone of the victim was tracked to Ikirun, another town in the state by the operatives.
“But before police could move in, the perpetrators had abandoned the victims and fled. But the woman and the son have been reunited with her husband,” a top security source who pleaded anonymity said during an interview our correspondent.
The Osun Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola could not be reached through her phone, but the family source, confirmed the release.
Although he declined to give details of how the victims regained freedom, when asked if the victims have been released, he simply said, “They have been released.
