Muhammed: Oba Makama, A Detribalised Yoruba Traditional Ruler, Poised To Unite Nigerians

The management of OurNigeria News Magazine has described the Olowu of Kuta Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude (Tegbosun III), as a detribalised monarch who has consistently dedicated his live to serve people and poised to unite the people of the country.

The publisher of the national news magazine, Dr. Abubakar Muhammed, disclosed this during his courtesy visit to the palace of the monarch in Kuta, Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun state.

He described Oba Oyelude as a complete peace maker, philanthropist and God-fearing community leader saying other traditional rulers must emulate his good deed.

According to him, he and his team have been relating with traditional rulers in the country and have identified Olowu as one of the prominent monarchs who have the passion to the country unity.

He said: “We’ve been relating with monarchs across the country and we’ve identified the Olowu of the Kuta kingdom, as one of the prominent monarchs who have the passion to see the country united, he knows how to put people together East, West South, and North he is a unifier.

“We have been interacting with him and I’ve seen how he has been able to put people together and make them think as Nigeria, I understand that he once lived in Boron state if he goes to boron today it’s just like home because he has motivated fruitful relationship in that part of the country and other parts of the country, so because of that we said let go and visit his kingdom and see his domain, kingdom and what kind of leadership style and questions that might be of his interest to share.

“These are just the reason why we think we should make this visit and I’m happy and impressed with this visit.

“This is a disunited country and most of these things are the political leaders, traditional leaders are not helping the matter, Olowu of Kuta is a leader who is trying his best to see that everybody comes together because if we don’t have socio-cohesion which brings unity how can we have stability, peace, and development.

“One of the problems this government is having is that some people perceive that they are excluded that is why the Buhari governments is having problem, other traditional ruler must not hide in their palaces and keep quiet and allow the country to burn down as say we don’t have Constitution.

“Other Oba, Emir, and Obi should emulate Olowu of Kuta because he knows when to talk and keep quiet.

“Our visit to the Olowu today is like we are at home, the kind of the hospitality is very fantastic and superb, we enjoyed ourselves and Olori too made us to know that definitely we are at home as well as the cultural and traditional drummers and traditional aids and other traditional rulers who surrounded the Olowu of Kuta, we are highly elated “.

Responding, the Olowu who was highly elated receiving the management team of OurNigeria News Magazine led by the Publisher, Abubakar Mohammed and the Editor in Chief, Auwal Umar appreciated them for visiting him from far away Abuja.

Olowu used the occasion to appeal to politicians in the country on the need for them to shun campaign of calumny and play politics with utmost fear of God, maturity and decorum.

The Olowu, who underscored the need for all Nigerians, irrespective of religious, political or ethnic affiliations to put national interest above self interest urged every politicians to engage in issue-based campaigns, which would address the topmost challenges of insecurity, economy and unemployment among others facing the country.

According to Oba Oyelude, “politicians for the 2023 elections should shun malignant campaigns of name-calling, bad-mouthing and calumny against their opponents as the only way to ensure free, fair, credible and peaceful conduct of the polls which is around the corner.

Oba Oyelude, also called on Nigerians not to lose hope but to believe in the country for a greater and brighter future.

The Monarch who commended the team for using their pen to contribute their quota to the development of the country and not to create problem said their reports have always been factual and informative.

Other members of the team who accompanied Dr Abubakar Mohammed and the Editor in Chief, Auwal Umar are the Editor, Omoba Jerry Adesuwe and Aisha Rabo who is the Business Development Manager.
