Discipline Your Desires, Devotion,  Duties,  Supreme Archbishop OjoPowerson Urges Ministers Of God

By Bode Akinbode, Ibadan

The General Overseer, Holy Ghost Royal House Of Restoration,  Apata, Ibadan,  Supreme Archbishop Emmanuel Ojo Powerson has charged ministers of God and church leaders to be  discipline in their desires,  devotion and duties to God

He gave the charge recently at the third edition of the church’s annual Acts Of The Apostles Conference, with the theme “Unlimited Grace” currently ongoing at the Church’s headquarters in Apata, Ibadan,  the oyo state capital.

The clergy, who spoke on the topic “Unlimited Grace for Growth In all spheres of life: the templates is still there”  said to be sent by God for ministerial assignments, discipline is essential to achieve Gods purpose for one’s life.

He charged leaders of the Christian faith to emulate the acts of the Apostles and be focused on the word and teachings of the gospel in order to discover who they really are in Christ.

“Until you discover the real you, you will never discover purpose; discover who you are in Christ because everybody exists based on who they are” he urged.

Speaking with newsmen during the programme, the Lead Pastor,  Ambition of Christ  Restoration Center  Huston, Texas, United States of America, Apostle Karey Thomas HRH,  described the conference as the expression of what the Holy Spirit desires to do in the church adding that the  book of  Acts in the Bible is a show and the demonstration of what needs to be done.

According to him, the gathering has brought ministers of God to be strengthened and reminded of what Jesus has commissioned them to.

Karey, also called on christians to get together through such  gatherings to regain their focus of who they are, where the church is supposed to be and what God is expecting from the them .

“I believe that we have slept,  permitted things to happen in the spirit and lost our focus because we have replaced what the calling and purpose is of who we are and so, its gathering like this that causes us to get focused, the meaning of focus to me is partial blindness,  my spiritual father taught me that, if the church can be focused and stop looking to the left and right and keep our minds targeted on where we suppose to be going and what God says we need to do, I believe we can get back in line, but at this point in time, I don’t believe that we are focused.

In the same vein, the Lead Pastor, Divine Spring of Life International Ministries, Johannesburg, South Africa,  Bishop Ranti Famodun and immediate past National President of the Nigerian Pastors Association Of South Africa,  said the conference, the third edition has been an impactful programme.

“We all pass through thick and thin, it’s not going to start well,  God will show you “well” that it will be well later on, but  it is going to start with challenges,  storms and different things but if you keep to the code of conduct that God has given you in the work, it will surely end well.”

He also noted that some current church leaders were not well prepared for the Ministry, saying “they are like babies handling the work of adults” .

“Someone will just give his life to Jesus today and become a pastor tomorrow.  They call themselves General Overseers, Prophets, Pastors and others.  You learn the works of the Ministry like an apprentice,  you don’t read it in books .

“Believers of nowadays  have lowered the  bar when compared to those before us like Pastors Enoch Adeboye, Umma Ukpai,  Wale Oke  and the likes.  We should be the signpost that will show people the right direction to the real destination they are going, the end time revival is coming and He is raising some few who will not bow before bal but serve the living God.

In his own remarks,  Founder and Senior Pastor, Words of Salvation Chapel International,  Accra Ghana, Bishop Prince Ansar Danso stated that he  has been  blessed by the programme charging Christians to connect with the right people saying “without connection with the right spiritual leaders and impartation,  you can’t go anywhere”

“You need a father to be able to fly.  For me, my life has been impacted and I know others will be affected as well.”

The National Prelate , Global Congress of Bishops and Apostles in Nigeria,  Bishop Oluwole David in his words said the purpose of the programme is to bring back the lost  glory of the church. All the mess in the body of Christ,  to correct and expose the ministers of God to the real knowledge of the word of God and also to propagate the gospel by the teachings of the word of God and how the Apostles did it in their time.

“The Bible says,  “my people perish because they lack knowledge”. We have discovered that there are a lot of ministers of God who lacked the knowledge of the word of God. Many are not trained, never attended Bible schools and many never understand what the Ministry is all about,  so they don’t know the ethics of the ministry.

“So, the essence of the gathering is to train  and retrain them in the ethics of their profession or calling as it is in the beginning that is why it is called the Acts of the Apostles because Jesus handed his ministry to the Apostles.

The National Chairman, Global Congress of Bishops, Apostles and Ministers,

Bishop Sebastine Emmanuel in his submission, urged Christians particularly,  church leaders to always desire spiritual growth in work with God

He charged every ministers of God to  seek to  increase in Knowledge,  spirit and wisdom by attending programmes such as this

He urged Nigerians to have hope in the  country,  saying everything will be fine describing  Nigeria as a trigger for the revival of the whole world and that “God will not sit and watch us”

The programme which kicked off on Wednesday ends on  Sunday October 15, .2023 with a Thanksgiving service.
