BREAKING: Gbajabiamila Resigns From Reps
…As Abbas Declares Seat Vacant
Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Rep Femi Gbajabimila has formally resigned from the parliament.
Gbajabiamila’s letter of resignation was read on the floor on Wednesday by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas after the former speaker had tendered the letter.
Recall that Gbajabiamila is due to be sworn in as the chief of staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu later today at the Presidential Villa.
Following his withdrawal, Speaker Abbas also declared Gbajabiamila’s seat vacant where a fresh election will be conducted.
