2023 Presidency: PDP South West Women Strategise For Atiku’s Victory

Ahead of the February 25 presidential election, South West women on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday converged on Osogbo, Osun State, to brainstorm on how to deliver bulk votes for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

They, however, called on the Nigerians, especially women, to come out en masse to cast their votes for Atiku Abubakar.

Speaking at a meeting organised by the PDP Presidential Women Camping Council in Osogbo, the Director-General (DG), Atiku/Okowa Women Presidential Campaign Council, Mrs Hadiza Adado, said the essence of the town hall meeting is to further engage stakeholders, especially women across the South West states, on the need to sensitise their people across local governments in their respective states to vote right.


She said women constitute large numbers of voters expected to participate in the coming election and the need for them to vote for PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyin Okowa becomes Paramount .

According to her , the popularity of Atiku /Okowa is growing everyday in the country and possibility of winning the presidential election is 100 per cent sure.

“We women are ready to occupy the presidential seat and other key position in the coming general elections and we shall succeed insha Allah .

” I want to urge women across the south west states to mobilise their wards and ensure that their votes count for Atiku /Okowa in the elections .”

In her Address of Welcome , Mrs Modupe Adeleke Sani, the Southwest DG for Atiku/Okowa Women Presidential Campaign Council , said the only candidate that can deliver the country from the bad economy being experienced is Atiku Abubakar .

Sani said that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) statistics shows that women constitute most registered voters especially in Osun state.

She said that WPCC Coordinators across the south west states have embarked on door to door campaign in their respective states in order to sensitise both women and men on the need to vote for PDP in the coming elections .

The South West DG advised women to come out en masses on the day of election with their PVCs and vote for PDP and stay back to defend and their votes.

Also speaking, wife of presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mrs Titi Abubakar, commended the entire women in the southwest for their tireless efforts in ensuring her husband’s victory in the presidential polls.

Abubakar, represented by Mrs Funmilayo Lamuye Oluoje, said with the current predicament every Nigerians knows that the only party that can rescue the country is PDP.

She further said there is need for women across the country to start preaching the gospel of Atiku Abubakar because of the bad governance being experienced under the present APC administration.

Abubakar , however, charged Nigerians especially women on the need to come out en masses comes Feb.25 and cast their votes for her husband in order to rescue the country from the present.
