What Gov Makinde Told AIG Akande About Security During Courtesy Visit
The Assistance Inspector General of Police, Zone 11 Command Osogbo, AIG Sikiru Kayode Akande, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to Oyo State Governor Engr Seyi Makinde in his office at Oyo State Governor’s office, Agodi, State Secretariat, Ibadan.
AIG Akande while briefing the Governor about the purpose of his visit said the visit is to formally inform His Excellency of his arrival as the new AIG Zone 11 and also to appreciate him and the state residents for accommodating and supporting the Nigeria Police.
In his words AIG Akande said, “I am here this afternoon to formally inform you of my arrival and to thank you immensely for your help and support for the Police in Oyo State, most especially to the CP and his team.
“You have done beyond our expectation and I can say you are a true epitome of the state’s anthem.” He said.
AIG Akande said immediately I resumed as the AIG Zone 11 Command, I received good news that the Oyo State Government gave Eighty four (84) Operational vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force Oyo State Command, we are happy for it and this is encouraging us to work hard and we will not stop doing our best to secure the State and the entire country.
The governor Engr. Seyi Makinde commended the efforts of all the security agencies during the last general election in the state, which was adjudged the most peaceful election in Nigeria.
He then promised that his administration would revive the Police “Swift Response Squad” (SRS) in the state in the first 100 days of his second term in office.
He said that such a step would help deal with criminal elements in the state.
The new AIG was accompanied by Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams psc(+), fdc, DC ZCID, DCP Nnaghe Obono Itam, DC Oyo Command DFA, DCP Jimoh Moshood, DC Z”OP”S DCP Felix Ohagwu, DC ZDFA DCP Reuben Abiola, new DC ZCID, DCP Nelson Nwamanna, DC Oyo State ‘OP’S DCP Akinade Adejobi and other officers of the zone and the state commands.
