Nigeria Needs More Private Schools At All Levels To Assist Govt-Chairman PRODA Academy
The Chairman PRODA Academy Osogbo, Osun State, Professor David Adewumi at the weekend posited that Nigeria needed establishment of More private schools to accommodate millions of school age children outside the school.
Speaking at the end of 2022/23 Session of the school the Director, Pharmacist Demola Adewuyi who spoke on behalf of the Chairman said Nigeria is a big country with millions of school age children, therefore Government alone cannot do the work of educating all these children and so there’s need for many private schools to fill in the gap.
The Chairman who also spoke on what some people term as proliferation of nursery and Primary schools in Nigeria, he said if there are many more Schools it will assist to accommodate millions of children outside there.
He further contended that in as much as private schools have standard curricular and international best practices which can be adopted by privates schools, then there is believe that private schools can give qualitative education when given enabling environment
He noted that “PRODA Academy was established in the year 2019, September 2019 to be precise, and God has helped us over the years to grow and to establish ourselves in the committee of schools here in Osun State. The school has a core mandate to produce a total child, hence, the reason for our emphasis on “Learn, Grow, and Play.” We have well-equipped laboratories, ICT rooms, and we have qualified teachers to produce a total child.”
He said “As we move into the new session, we want to assure our parents that we will invest particularly in the vocational areas, sporting facilities, music, and many more areas to ensure a total child is produced.”
“The school has also gone a step ahead by way of introducing a standard hostel facilities. To this end, parents are encouraged to take advantage of our hostel facilities to cushion the effect of transportation costs and all issues associated with transporting students to and from the school on a daily basis. We promise to take care of your kids. The hostel will surely be a home away from home.”
“In all, PRODA Academy will continue to ensure a serene environment suitable for the students and staff of the school and to produce the best of the best of the students that will make Nigeria proud.”
He however specifically thanked father and mother, Professor and Mrs. Lucky Anetor, Mr. Wale Niniola, Mr. Rahmon Ismaila, and Engr. Adewuyi Adesola, for their generous donations towards making the school a special one.
He equally appreciated Professor David Aderemi Adewuyi whose steadfast commitment has been instrumental in making this institution the beacon of learning that it is today. He is the major pillar of this citadel of great learning and, Mrs. Damilola Adewuyi, the Assistant Director of the school, for all her efforts to make sure they have a great institution. .
