Niger Coup: Coupists Form New Govt Amid ECOWAS Deadline
The military officers who took over the government of the Niger Republic on July 27 through a coup d’etat have officially announced the establishment and formation of a new government in the country.
The coupists made this known on Thursday in a live decree broadcast on national television informing the world of its latest moves.
The 21-member cabinet will be led by Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, with generals overseeing the defence and interior ministries.
