JUST IN: Security operatives Intercept Oil-Theft Syndicates In Delta State
Security personnel from Nigeria have stopped an oil theft ring in Delta state’s Oporoza district.
Recall that Asari Dokubo, a former militant leader, said in June that the Nigerian Army and Navy were responsible for 99 percent of the oil theft in the Niger Delta region.
The former agitator claimed that the people who continue oil bunkering in the Niger Delta region are powerful cabals that frequently operate out of Abuja and have an entitlement attitude. He denied accusations that residents of the oil-rich region were responsible for oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
However, the Nigerian Army and Navy denied Dokubo’s claim as oil theft continues to occur in the region.
