Gunmen Attack Osun Poly Rector, Riddle Car With Bullets

A yet-to-be-identified gunmen on Monday evening the Rector of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, Dr Samson Akinbamide Adegoke.

It was gathered that the assassination attempt happened at Eti-Oni junction, less than two kilometers from the institution’s gate. The Rector’s vehicle was riddled with bullets at the alleged assassins aimed for his life.

Police Public Relations Officer of Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the attack on the Poly’s helmsman, stating that investigation is ongoing.

Opalola said, “yes, we have heard about it. We’re currently investigating it and we’ll soon fish out the culprits.”

Adegoke was among the appointments made by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola after the July election and it’s unknown if the attempt on his life is related to rectorship tussle on the campus.
