Updated: 8 Dead, Several Injured As Train Crushes LASG Staff Bus (Pictures)
No fewer than eight persons have confirmed dead and several others injured as a train rammed into Lagos State government staff bus at the PWD bus stop.
The South West Director of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye in a statement on Thursday said eight adult female staff of the State Government died and several were injured.
He said the State Government staff bus was trying to cross the PWD/Sogunle Rail crossing, but the train coming into Lagos from Abeokuta trapped the bus on its rail.
Those who sustained injuries have been evacuated to the hospital, while operations are ongoing at the scene. Meanwhile, the state Emergency Management Agency, the police, the Federal Road Safety Corps, Civil Defence and the Nigeria Railway Corporation team are on ground at the scene to attend to the situation.
