Makinde Names 15.5Km Idi-Ape/Olorunda Abaa Road After Nyesom Wike

Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has named the entire stretch of 15.5km Idi-Ape to Olounda Abaa road as Nyesom Wike road.
Makinde made the declaration on Friday during the official flag off of the dualization of 8.3km Akobo, Ojurin/Odogbo Barracks Olounda Abaa Junction in Lagelu local government, Ibadan.
“I want to use this opportunity to name the stretch of road from Idi-Ape all the way to Olorunda Abaa as Governor Nyesom Wike Road.” Makinde declared.
The governor also disclosed that the dualization of the 8.3km Akobo, Ojurin/Odogbo Barracks Olounda Abaa road project costs N9.6 billion and would be completed within twelve months.
Makinde added that 30 percent of the total cost has already been paid to the contractor handling the project; Samchase Nigeria Ltd.
While noting that the ongoing road dualization project would affect some properties in order to achieve the desired quality, standard and durability, Makinde assured that affected property owners would be promptly compensated.
Makinde reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to the development of the state while also reiterating his resolve to continue to put in place critical infrastructures that would open up the state for economic expansion that would attract big time investors from both local and global business environment.
