FUTA Student Plans To Beat Five-year World Record On Longest Reading

A postgraduate student of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Christopher Olusa has unfolded plans to beat the Guinness World record of Marathon reading currently held by Ananta Ram from Nepal.

A Nepali, Ananta Ram is the current holder of the record after achieving the longest speech marathon of 90 hr and 2 min, in Kathmandu, Nepal from 27 to 31 August 2018.

However, Olusa is attempting to set aside the record with a 120-hour (Five days) word-to-word speech beating Ram who is the current holder who has read for four days totaling 90 hours, two minutes.

He said he has got approval from the Guinness World Record (GWR) to embark on the Marathon reading which would begin next week in Akure, the Ondo State capital. He said he would be working with a 40-man team to achieve the feat.
