Osun NMA Begins 2023 Annual General Meeting , Scientific Conference With Thanksgiving Service

The Nigerian Medical Association, Osun State Chapter has commenced its 2023 Annual General Meeting and scientific Conference with thanksgiving service.

The thanksgiving service took place today Sunday , August 6, 2023 at the Chapel of Grace , OAU, Ile-Ife.

Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, Chaplain of the Chapel of Grace, OAU, Ile-ife prayed for the association and urged them to uphold the principle of their profession.

While praying God to lead them through their conference and meetings the cleric charged them to stand by the oath they swore to save lives adding that Nigerians in general expect more commitment from them.

He, however enjoined the medical experts must abstain from malice, guiles, hypocrisy, envy and evil speaking, just as he implored them be a God fearing in the course of discharging their duties.

“In the course of your duties, you need to be holy. You are God’s temple. You must make sure you avoid malice, guiles, hypocrisy, envy and evil speaking”

Meanwhile, LOC chairman who also doubles as the Vice Chairman 1 of the association, Dr. Fasanu Adeniyi appreciated the man of God just as he thanked God for giving him the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.

Dr Adeniyi said: “Your sermons are so touching that they inspire us to strive hard to do the will of God. Thank you for all you do”.

The Publicity Secretary of the Association, Ilori S.O told CityMirrorNews that apart from the Thanksgiving service the association in continuation of the activities lined up for the programme will visit the Nigeria Correctional Centre in Ilesa, tomorrow Monday, August 7, for donation of food items and other relief materials.

According to Ilori, the theme for the Physicians’ Week is “‘Brain Drain and Inequitable Distribution of Health Care Resources, Urgent Need to Save the Nigerians Health Care Sector”.

He stressed that Prof. Akin Osibogun, President, National Postgraduate Medical College, Lagos will be their guest speaker at this year physicians week.
