Arise Congress Commences in Lagos

The much-awaited Arise Congress has finally kicked off at the Baptist International Convention Centre, Lufuwape, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The congress which is the first of its kind and is expected to have 20,000 youths in attendance is organised by the Nigerian Baptist Convention.
Participants at the congress were drawn from all parts of the country and the African continent at large. Also expected at the event are people outside the continent of Africa.
The Nigerian Baptist Convention President, Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji had assured that the congress would witness a heart-to-heart talk with the youths and also serve as a symbolic handover of the church to youths.
Expected to stir up youths with different presentations are guests including Pastor Tunde Bakare, Dr. Sarah Alade, and Dunsin Oyekan amongst others. Also invited are some of the best hands in the Nigerian Baptist Convention including Dickson Madoghwe, Matthew Awujoola, Israel Kristilere, Alhamdu Tukurah, Philip Oyewale, and Olawuyi James among others.
While declaring the session open, the Director, Youth and Student Ministries of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. James Olawuyi who is also the host welcomed participants and assured them that their expectations would be met.
The programme will run from today, Wednesday, 6 September, till Saturday 9 September 2023.
The programme is streamed live on Arise for impact social media handles and the New Frontiers TV.
