Osun: APC Chieftain, Asler Distributes Free JAMB, WAEC Forms To Over 550 Indigent Students In Ejigbo

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Ayodele Asalu popularly called Asler on Saturday distributed free Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB, forms to over 300 prospective candidates from Ejigbo Local Government Area of the state.

He also distributed free WAEC forms to over 250 indigent students of the local government area.

Asler who is the Chairman APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Youths and Students Mobilisation in the state while distributing the free forms to the beneficiaries in Ejigbo, Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun state on Saturday said he will go further to provide scholarships to the best performing candidates in the JAMB examination, to enable them start and complete their educational programmes in their choice institutions.

The Ejigbo born politician, who described the gesture as knowledge Development Intervention Programme to boost the development of the state, said he was compelled to embark on the exercise because there are many brilliant students from poor homes who may wish to go to the universities but lack support from their parents.

He said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome everyone here to the official presentation of WAEC forms to 250 students and UTME forms to 300 beneficiaries in Ejigbo Local Government.

“I have executed this intervention for years, across the four Local Governments of Ejigbo, Ede North, Ede South and Egbedore, as my personal contribution to the advancement of education in this region.

“I noted that over time, biting poverty and tightening economic conditions in the country has made many parents and guardians unable to finance their wards through higher education. My free WAEC and UTME forms is thus an approach to ensuring that these brilliant children of indigent parents are not barred from pursuing higher education because of their parents’ economic conditions. Over the years, under this intervention, we have registered over 2500 students for WAEC and UTME respectively.

“I welcome you all to the official presentation of these forms to beneficiaries and use the opportunity to call on other people of means to kindly lend a hand like this, to the advancement of indigent people in our society.

“I also encourage beneficiaries to ensure they do not take this opportunity for granted. Face your studies and ensure that you put all your mind into your pursuit of quality education. As I have promised earlier, anyone of you who distinguishes themselves will stand the chance to enjoy scholarship for tertiary education in the school of their choice.

“I will continue to provide critical support, like our ongoing free tutorial programme across the Local Government, as the Lord gives me the opportunity to do. Congratulations to all beneficiaries and God bless you.”

Speaking, one of the beneficiaries, Idowu Kayode appreciated the philanthropic gesture of Asler urged other well meaning Nigerians to emulate the kind gesture.

He prayed God to continue to bless and grant their benefactor all his heart desires.
