NIS Arrests 30 Illegal Migrants In Ogun
Operatives of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Ogun state have arrested and paraded 30 young suspected illegal migrants syndicates in the state.
The State Comptroller of NIS, Abosede Olayemisi, said the illegal migrants from Beninis and Congolese were also involved in defrauding fellow migrants.
She said they were arrested in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
According to her, the illegal migrants were caught defrauding their fellow nationals with promises of unexisting businesses.
Olayemisi said the activities of the suspects are capable of undermining national security and would be repatriated back to their countries of origin after due diligence.
“They are 30 in number and we apprehended them at their office where they gathered and doing illicit business, they are defrauding fellow foreign nationals by bringing them in and collecting money from them. They promised them employment in Nigeria.
“After taking money from them, they threw them to the street. The next thing is to repatriate them back to their home countries,” she said.
