The Chair, Christian Foundation for Social Justice and Equity, CFSJE, Comrade Joseph Sangosanya has called on President Muhammadu Buhari for urgent action in the wake of the Abuja-Kaduna Train attack where 8 people were confirmed dead, 29 injured and unknown number kidnapped.

Sangosanya made the call in a press statement issued today, in Abuja, saying that Nigeria needs a nationally coordinated strategy to combat insecurity on our roads, sea/air ports and train stations.

He said that the audacity and boldness with which these “Technically Defeated Terrorists” invaded the runway of Kaduna Airport, sacked villages and bombed Abuja-Kaduna train, all in the last few days, shows what dangers lie ahead of us as a Nation.

He said “Unbelievably, the bandits and terrorists are the ones taking initiatives as security forces are increasingly overwhelmed. Nigerian Military, Police and other Security agencies should get back as a matter of urgency to the drawing board; develop a proactive digital based monitoring device; effective and sensible plan to provide safety in all our travel routes to all Nigerians.

“We at the Christian Foundation for Social Justice and Equity hereby call on the Nigerian government to be responsive and alive to her constitutional responsibility to protect rights to movement and; protect citizens from attacks, taking effective measures to prevent any terrorist attacks on innocent citizens in all parts of the country.

“We implore the government to investigate failed intelligence, unravel security lacuna, identify gaps in intelligence gathering and bring the heads whose responsibility is to manage the high level security and intelligence command to accounts and; ensure kidnapped victims are rescue adequately with immediate actions”

He added that terrorist attacks on rural communities in many parts of the country are becoming rampant and frequent. “This is totally unacceptable.”, he noted.

He called on the government to take more proactive and concrete steps to protect lives and property across the Nation and secure release of the kidnapped victims while condoling with families of the bereaved.
