A Socio political group in Osun State, The Osun Progressive Women Forum (OPWOF) has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to announce Abosede Ogo-Oluwa, whom it said is the winner of the primary election that was conducted since friday to avoid upturn of results.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Women Forum and signed by its Coordinator, Mrs Joel Omolara and made available to Newsmen on Sunday morning in Osogbo the state capital.

Omolara explained that from all indications and results released and backed with video clips and pictures of voters lined up for Abosede Ogo-Oluwa during the primary elections as seen and viewed by general public in all designated wards, no doubt that Abosede Ogo-Oluwa remains the winner of the primary election.

CityMirrorNews reports that non-release of the results by Committee has brought about bickerings on social media by supporters of aspirants, especially those who were allegedly defeated in the contest.

OPWOF therefore appealed to Baba Bisi Akande, Engr Sola Akinwumi, Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Prince Gboyega Famodun, Mama Titi-laoye Ponle and other Stakeholders of the party to let people’s votes count by announcing the winner, Abosede Ogo-Oluwa to avoid abracadabra.

According to OPWOF, “it is pertinent to let the public know that we have heard that one of the contestants has been carrying bags of money around to upturn the results of the primary election which was won by Abosede Ogo-Oluwa, we wouldn’t take it”.

Omolara therefore appealed to the International Human Rights for Women Affairs, National Gender Policy, United Nation, wife of the President, Aisat Buhari, wife of the Governor of Osun, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola and all female groups to come and rescue female from this “gender based violence”.

“Yes, it is violence against women because Abosede Ogo-Oluwa participated in the primary election, people supported her and she recorded landslide victory and because she is a female, some believe with millions of naira her mandate can be denied, women will not take it easy with all the enemies of gender equality in this state”, omolara said.

OPWOF explained further, “Abosede supposed to relied on the extant National Gender Policy (NGP) recommendation of 35% affirmative action but when that was denied her, she went to field and won, why delaying the announcement of her result”, OPWOF asked?

“It is now obvious that whoever that want the results of the primary election conducted in Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu local government to be upturned in favour of another aspirant are the real enemies of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osun state and Women throughout the world”. OPWOF concluded.
