2023: Osun First Lady Inaugurates 138 Women Campaign Group For Tinubu/Shettima

The wife Of Osun State governor, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola has Inaugurated 138 women campaign group for Tinubu/ Shettima, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in the 2023 general elections.

Addressing the women, Mrs Kafayat said the group was inaugurated to consistently anchor the participation of women in politics and to stop the hitherto belief that political participation should be left only to men.

The inauguration of the women campaign group was held at Tinubu campaign hall in Osogbo, Osun State capital on Friday.

She urged the women to be brave as lion, courageous and show more effort in ensuring that Tinubu win the 2023 general elections.

According to her , “Today, we are unveiling Akoni Obinrin Osun (Akosun). It is a body put together by women in this state to consistently anchor the participation of women in politics. Akoni Obinrin comprise of women of courage, women with passion, and women of accomplishments, who have resolved to use their time, substance and intellect to actively give progressive direction to politics in our state. Our current focus in Akoni Obinrin is to mobilise, in an unprecedented manner for the victory of the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the other candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections

“Nigerian women have stood up in history for issues that contributed to the evolution and development of Nigeria. Names such as Madam Efunroye Tinubu, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, Margaret Ekpo, Virginia Etiaba, Sarah Nnadzwa Jubril, Kudirat Abiola, Florence Ita-Giwa, stand out in history as brave and irrepressible women who have changed the horizon of political and economic participation of the country.

“Here in Osun, we are equally not lacking in amazons, who have been dogged at women mobilization. Our women in national and state legislatures, executive positions and businesses must be commended for their agility, bravery and tenacity. Your efforts are changing things and rekindling the hope that we shall soon get a country and states that would engender better standard of living.

“We are at the cusp of history. Let us rise again and bring up that country we all yearn for. Let’s renew the hope in our children. Your engagements led to the unprecedented increase in the number of voters that turned out in the last election in the state. We can do this again. We must get into each house in this state and get every eligible voter to come out and do the needful.”

Oyetola further urged the women to continue to mobilise support for Tinubu and other APC candidates in Osun State, adding, “Like the saying goes, all politics are local. Let us play it real local. The 2023 election will trigger great and unprecedented positive change in the living standard of our people in Nigeria. Nation building is like pregnancy.

“Every woman knows that without the pain of the labour room, there is no joy of babies. Every development always always have some pains that go with it. This is why it is called development. From what we know, the pains are about to pass and the joy is about here. Let’s tell our people that nothing great happens until we leave our houses.

“So, the ball is in our court now. We should fan out and get every voter out there for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the others. We can do this!

She thereby Commends the state governor of Osun State Governor, for his support , contribution and his interest towards women in Osun.

In the same vein, the wife of Former Oyo State governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi charged the women to be brave and stand up to pursue their interest.

Stating the effort of women in nation building she said women are home builders who makes peaceful home, produce productive man, successful children and a peaceful society.

“According to the saying, behind every successful man, there is a woman, not just any woman, but a strong one. Women are the salt of the world; they make life beautiful and make home peaceful. And a peaceful home will definitely produce a productive man, successful children and a peaceful society.
In the words of the Indian philosopher, author and religious teacher”

She explained that Tinubu/Shettiima is the only candidate who has what it takes to deliver the nation from insecurities and struggle.

she appreciates the organizers of the event who have continued to sustain this initiative aimed at deliberating issues affecting women and in the society.

According to her ” This initiative is praiseworthy when one considers the strategic and indispensable position of women in nation( building. As women, we make things happen. We are the pillars that uphold the home and by extension, our society.

Mrs Florence also urged women to be focused and participate actively in politics adding that Tinubu will give women 25 percent appointment if elected.
