Awolowo, Abiola Have Paid Enough Price
Senator Ajibola Basiru has appreciated the support given him always by members of Ajegunle Spare Part Dealers, Osogbo.
Senator Basiru gave the note of appreciation when members of the Association invited him to their General Meeting.
The Federal lawmaker hinted at what he has been able to achieve in the last 3 years across all the ten local governments making up Osun Central. He said more developments will be attracted to Osun Central if he returns to the Senate.
“I’m a first time Senator, and not a ranking one. It’s by the grace of God that I have been to touch on school. health and social infrastructure with empowerment and employment opportunities besides sundry Interventions. ”
“As I speak,we have erected close to over 600 solar powered lights in Palaces, markets, motor parks and streets in Osun Central. Distribution of the second batch will start in few weeks. ”
“I’m here to seek your support again ahead of next year’s election. The more one spends in the National Assembly, the more opportunities he has to facilitate developments to his district.”
“And let me add that Yoruba cannot continue to swim in the backwaters of leadership and
development in Nigeria. We should not allow what happened to Chiefs Awolowo and Abiola to repeat itself in 2023, if truly we are Yoruba sons and daughters.”
Senator Ajibola Basiru remarked that only one party, APC, has a Yoruba candidate and by implication, has Yoruba interest at heart.
He urged members of the Spare Part Dealers to see the 2023 General Elections as a
threshold to the greatness of Yoruba on the national scene.
Earlier in his address of Welcome, Chairman of the Association of Spare part Dealers, Alhaji Azeez Kamorudeen had appreciated Senator Basiru’s gesture towards them each time they sought his assistance. He thanked Basiru for lighting up Ajegunle and assisting them financially to get a befitting office and the fund raiser they did recently.
While asking for more, the Association assured Senator Ajibola Basiru of its support in next year’s election.
