Boards Appointment: Osun ALGON Chair Lauds Gov Oyetola

The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON in Osun, Hon. Samuel Idowu Abiodun on Monday applauded Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the State for appointing eminently qualified citizens of the state as boards’ chairmen and members of critical agencies, institutions and parastatals in the State.

The ALGON Chairman also expressed gratitude to the Governor for appointing him as member of Local Government Loan Board.

Abiodun in an interview with newsmen during the inauguration ceremony of the newly appointed Chairmen and members of non-statutory boards and parastatals, on Monday held at the State Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo, appreciated the governor for counting him worthy.

The appointment of the new hands was to complement government’s efforts towards equitable delivery of quality and qualitative services and democratic dividends to the citizens across the sectors of the economy.

Among those inaugurated are: Former Health Minister, Prof. Isaac Adewole (UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Board); former Osun Deputy Speaker, Akintunde Adegboye (College of Science and Technology, Esa Oke), foremost lawyer and former Governorship aspirant in the State, Saka Layonu, SAN, (Osun Polytechnic, Iree) and another former Deputy Speaker, Taiwo Sunmonu (Teaching Service Board).

Reacting to this new appointment, the ALGON Chairman promised not to disappoint the Governor just as he assured his utmost diligence and loyalty in the discharge of his duties.

He said: “I want to use this avenue to appreciate Mr. Governor for appointing people of impeccable character and credible citizens of our dear State to head various agencies, institutions and parastatals.

“To me, this is another milestone in the history of our dear State and I have confident in the ability of the appointees to hit the ground running and effect the desired change and complement Mr Governor’s avowed commitment to turn around the socioeconomic fortunes of the State.

“Also, I equally appreciates Mr Governor for also counting me worthy to be a member of the board. I want to assure the Governor of my utmost diligence, honestly and loyalty in the discharge of my responsibilities .

“As a matter of fact, the board will further help me to serve in another capacity of rendering selfless service to the people of the state and I pledge to put in my best to justify the confidence reposed in me by the Governor,” he added.
